My goal is to design and maintain websites that are attractive, easy to navigate and to read, and -- most importantly -- create a Web presence that fits into the client's overall marketing plan.
My focus is on providing not only a valuable website, but also a related and linked Facebook "Fan Page" and Twitter account. The Facebook page and Twitter account enable the client to provide updated information and to communicate with their customers real time.
Recently, Google invited me to preview and test Google Wave. Wikipedia describes Google Wave as a tool "designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking." Some see it as the sequel to Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr all in one package. I say it's too early to tell, but I want to be ready for whatever the future brings.
But, wait.Those are my goals and the focus of my work on the Web. Here's a quick example of a recent project that means a lot to me. I think you'll like it.
Chicken Latino, a Peruvian restaurant in Pittsburgh's Strip District, asked Prestige Web to add some images, color and its current menu to what was a rather plain vanilla website.
The end result: a stunning re-design, including the images the restaurant provided, as well as additional photos, explanatory copy, detailed descriptions to the menu, press reviews, and a local map. We also corrected Chicken Latino's address and hours of operation in Google Maps and Mapquest.
In addition, I created a Fan Page on Facebook, which Chicken Latino regularly updates with specials and photos and where customers can add comments and photos.
